How to Delete Sent Messages on WhatsApp

WhatsApp keeps developing and updating features as they have recently rolled out an update that gives users the ability to delete messages from recipients phones sent by mistake due to typos. This delete/revoke feature is really going to come handy especially when you mistakenly sent a message or you wished you never said something after you already sent the message. The delete/revoke feature will quickly handle the delete immediately you tap on the delete message button on your whatsapp.
Kindly note that this feature can only be used within seven minutes after the mess was sent. This means that if you sent a message mistakenly, for example a love message meant for your girlfriend to your mistakenly. You can delete the message only within seven minutes after the message has been sent. Any minute after the 7 minutes stipulation will cause the feature not to work and the message stays online forever.
HOW TO DELETE WHATSAPP MESSAGES SENT BY MISTAKE
REQUIREMENTS
  • You must update your whatsapp to the latest version.
  • The recipient whatsapp number must have updated to the latest whatsapp version too, else it will not work.
To delete a message on whatsapp
  • Open the chat containing the message you want to delete.
  • Tap and hold on the message you want to delete. You can tap and hold on multiple messages to delete more messages at once
  • Tap Delete at the top of the screen
–> Delete for everyone.

That’s it, the messages you selected have been deleted from the recipient’s phone.
This method is also applicable to deleting messages from group chats.
The recipient instead of seeing the message will see a “message has been deleted” sentence on their end. If you see something like this. It means a message sent to you has been deleted by its sender.
Unfortunately, WhatsApp team says you won’t be notified if the deleting operation failed.
